Bangladesh Triumph Over Pakistan in Nail-Biting ODI Series Decider

In a thrilling finale at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 11 runs to seal a historic 2–1 ODI series victory.

Defending a target of 291, the Tigers bowled out Pakistan for 279, marking only the second ODI series win against the visiting side.

Tanzid’s Century Sets Bangladesh on Course
Batting first, Bangladesh posted 290/5, led by young opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim, who scored his maiden international century with a sparkling 107 off 107 balls. His partnership with Saif Hassan laid a solid foundation, while the middle order and a late flourish from Towhid Hridoy pushed the total beyond expectations.

Taskin Ahmed Shines With the Ball
Pakistan’s chase stumbled early as they lost three wickets for just 17 runs in the powerplay. Taskin Ahmed spearheaded the collapse with 4/49, dismantling the top order with pace and accuracy. Salman Ali Agha fought valiantly with an 89-ball century, supported by debutant Saad Masood and captain Shaheen Afridi, but Taskin returned to claim the decisive wicket, and Rishad Hossain wrapped up the tail under intense pressure.

Match Summary

  • Bangladesh: 290/5 (50 overs) | Tanzid Hasan 107, Towhid Hridoy 48*

  • Pakistan: 279/10 (49.4 overs) | Salman Ali Agha 100, Taskin Ahmed 4/49
