US First Lady Melania Trump brought together leaders, spouses of world leaders, and top tech executives from more than 40 countries for a global summit focused on children, education, and technology.
The two-day event, held under Trump’s Fostering the Future Together initiative, aims to foster international cooperation to improve educational opportunities and digital access for children worldwide.
In her opening remarks, Trump urged participating nations to strengthen collaboration, invest in research, and launch programs that prepare young people with the skills necessary for the digital age. “As people we dream. As leaders we progress.
As nations we will build,” she said, calling on attendees to create strategies tailored to regional needs, support education-friendly policies, and sponsor technology-driven legislation to empower children.
Representatives from regions including Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East attended the summit. Major technology firms, including Microsoft, Google, and OpenAI, took part in private sessions to discuss digital learning tools and strategies for online safety.
Among the notable participants were Olena Zelenska and Sara Netanyahu. Zelenska highlighted Ukraine’s integration of artificial intelligence into classrooms, emphasizing that modern education must move beyond a one-size-fits-all approach.
Netanyahu underscored the importance of adult guidance to ensure children navigate the online world safely.
The Fostering the Future Together initiative also focuses on humanitarian efforts, such as reuniting children separated from families during the conflict in Ukraine.
The summit will continue with discussions on AI in education, digital literacy, online safety, and innovative classroom technology, concluding later this week with a White House roundtable session.
