3 US Military Killed in Action During 'Operation Epic Fury' Joint Offensive against Iran

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on Sunday that three American soldiers were killed and five others seriously wounded during ongoing combat operations under Operation Epic Fury against Iran

The fatalities occurred as American and Israeli forces intensified a massive joint offensive designed to degrade Iran’s strategic military infrastructure and command centers.

Casualties in Yemen Operations

The fatal engagement took place in Yemen, where U.S. forces have been conducting strikes against Iran-backed Houthi targets as part of the broader regional campaign.

  • Fatalities: Three U.S. service members were killed in action.

  • Serious Injuries: Five soldiers sustained serious wounds during the operation.

  • Minor Injuries: Several additional personnel were treated for minor shrapnel injuries and concussions.

  • Status: These personnel are in the process of being returned to duty.

  • Notification: The identities of the deceased are being withheld for 24 hours pending the notification of next of kin.

'Operation Epic Fury': A Joint Offensive

The operation marks a historic level of direct military coordination between the United States and Israel against Iranian targets.

Strategic Impact

  • Aerial Campaign: Combined air forces have dropped over 1,200 bombs on Iranian regime facilities and strategic sites.

  • Naval Support: U.S. military aircraft stationed aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln have been central to the offensive.

  • Primary Objectives: The mission aims to neutralize Iran’s missile systems and command-and-control centers following a diplomatic deadlock over the country's nuclear program.

CENTCOM Commits to Continued Action

Despite the loss of American life, U.S. officials emphasized that the situation remains fluid and major combat operations are continuing.

"We will continue to take appropriate action to protect our forces and ensure regional stability," CENTCOM stated, reiterating its commitment to the joint mission with Israel.

The announcement comes amid a backdrop of extreme regional volatility following the reported death of Iran's Supreme Leader and subsequent retaliatory strikes.
