KKR Spend ₹63.85 Crore to Buy 13 Players at IPL Mini Auction

India:

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) completed their squad early at the IPL mini auction, purchasing 13 players—six of them overseas—for a total expenditure of ₹63.85 crore.

Among the 10 franchises, KKR were the first to wrap up their buying process and emerged as one of the most aggressive teams at the auction table.

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green was KKR’s costliest acquisition, signed for ₹25.20 crore. Sri Lankan fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana followed as the second most expensive pick, with KKR paying ₹18 crore to secure his services. These two signings accounted for a significant portion of KKR’s total spend and highlighted the franchise’s focus on pace and all-round depth.

Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman was bought for ₹9.20 crore after KKR outbid Chennai Super Kings. The franchise also added New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra for ₹2 crore to bolster their batting and spin options.

In the wicketkeeping department, KKR signed New Zealand’s Finn Allen for ₹2 crore and Tim Seifert for ₹1.50 crore.

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Tejasvi Singh Dahiya, who is yet to make his IPL debut, was bought for ₹3 crore amid competition from Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals.

KKR also reinforced their Indian pace attack by signing Akash Deep for ₹1 crore and Uttar Pradesh fast bowler Kartik Tyagi at his base price of ₹30 lakh. Tyagi has previous IPL experience and featured in 20 matches across earlier seasons.

With these additions, KKR focused on strengthening their fast-bowling resources, wicketkeeping options, and middle-order power ahead of the upcoming IPL season.
